After the phenomenal job Tom Cavanagh did last season playing Barry Allen’s mentor/ arch-villain Eobard Thawne/The Reverse Flash, many were left wondering what the show would do in its second season to top season 1’s big bad. The answer was revealed in the Season 1 premiere, when Barry first heard the name “Zoom” from a downed meta-human who had tried to kill him. Along with the appearance of Jay Garrick (who in the comics was the original Flash), we see a lot is going down this season, and the stakes may be higher than a lost super-villain trying to find his way back to his own time.

In the newly released international promo, we get our first look at Zoom, voiced by Candyman himself Tony Todd, whose creepy voice adds a lot of depth to the strange looking character. Based on the first episode and the trailer, Zoom seems hell bent on killing the Flash, and seems to be dropping meta-humans into Central City with that directive, telling them they cannot go home until the Flash is dead. Based on the appearance of Jay Garrick and all the talk of alternate timelines/dimensions this season, I’m guessing these metas are from Earth-2, where supposedly Garrick and Zoom are from, though why Zoom is obsessed with killing Barry is anyone’s guess. For now, check out the promo below and let us know your thoughts on Zoom’s look in the comments below!

Also, check out the official description of the second episode of ‘The Flash’ Season 2 (named ‘Flash of Two Worlds’) below:

“Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantal VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force.”
