We’ve just learned that on the set for ‘Suicide Squad‘ that Will Smith wasn’t able to get in a word edge wise with Jared Leto. It wasn’t for a lack of trying but more of the fact that instead of Leto being there, it seemed to be all Joker all the time. We’ve been hearing a lot about Leto’s method acting on the set and his ability to truly benter his character. It is hard to tell whether his Joker persona is being hyped up for pushing past the ghost of Heath Ledger. If true, then all of the cast members are sticking to it which should give us a unique performance at the very least.

According to Smith:

“I’ve never actually met Jared Leto. We worked together for 6 months and we’ve never exchanged a word outside of ‘Action!’ and ‘Cut!’ I literally have not met him yet. So, the first time I see him will be ‘Hey, Jared. What’s up?’ He was all in on the Joker.”

Even if Leto is keeping up this performance it will still be some time before we know if it resonates with fans. With how much work it has to be in order to keep up the crazy for six months you’ll have to wonder if he can duplicate the performance for the future stand alone ‘Batman’ movie or any other films which he may pop up in.
