Fan anticipation for the return of ‘Supernatural‘ is beginning to reach its apex, especially as we are now only a week away from finding out what happened after the darkness was unleashed in the Season 10 finale last May.

In the new clip below, we see that Sam and Dean survive their initial encounter with that darkness (though Sam looks like he got a a little banged up), and are now making their way down the road either trying to hunt the darkness or escape it. Either way, they come across a grisly roadside scene, with dead construction workers, a whole family dead in their car, and some police, most of whom have ominous black veins running across their necks, and look like they have been possessed by whatever the darkness is. One of the construction workers pops up, still alive, and shuffles ominously toward them, but they are saved by a female Sheriff, who demands to see the Winchester’s necks to confirm they are not “one of them” (whatever that means.)

Does this clip hint that this might be a kind of zombie season of ‘Supernatural,’ with the darkness infecting mankind, with only the Winchesters able to stop it? Why were Sam and Dean not infected, or that lady copy? Check out the full clip below, and than share your theories on what might be happening this season on ‘Supernatural’ in the comments below. For now,  we will just have to wait to see what the hell (no pun intended) is going on until the 11th Season of ‘Supernatural’ premieres on Wednesday, October 7th.

Picking up where the finale left off, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must deal with the Darkness that has been unleashed. Castiel (Misha Collins) deals with the effects of Rowena’s (Ruth Connell) spell and recalls his brutal battle with Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard).
