In case there was any doubt that Netflix didn’t have plans to continue their Marvel money-making machine, ‘Luke Cage‘ was just officially renewed for a second season. So far that means every Netflix Marvel show which has aired will be getting a second season as ‘Daredevil’ already has two out with a third on order and ‘Jessica Jones‘ has another in the works as well. Hopefully, ‘Iron Fist’, ‘The Defenders’, and ‘The Punisher’ will all follow in their footsteps as well by delivering fun and high-quality content that fans will keep coming back for!

While Marvel Studios has had problems giving us compelling villains outside of Loki, Netflix has had a solid track record of giving us three-dimensional monsters that we want to see return just as much as the heroes we started the shows for. In fact, ‘Luke Cage’ probably had a couple of the best villains to date outside of the last one, even though they clearly all won’t be making a comeback.

At this point, there is no word as to when ‘Luke Cage’ is scheduled to premiere though Netflix clearly looks like it will need to raise how many Marvel shows it streams as two per year would mean that at the very earliest this would have a 2018 release.

Not giving any details on what to expect, Marvel also confirmed the return of the series with this fun little teaser:

At the very least it looks as if Pop’s Barber Shop got repaired, let’s see if it can last the second season without being torn apart again.

Are you looking forward to the second season of ‘Luke Cage’? Do you think that after ‘The Defenders’ it may explore the ‘Heroes for Hire’ concept? What villains would you like to see our hero go up against next time around? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
