We’ve got the first shot of Hawkman and Hawkgirl from DC’s upcoming ‘Legends of Tomorrow‘ to share with you! We already knew that the pair would be fighting along side The Atom, Firestorm, White Canary, Captain Cold, and Heat Wave in the latest DC series on The CW but this is our first look at the lovers. While they will be shown front and center on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ the pair are actually going to be introduced prior to that on the ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ crossover episodes before the ultimate DC televised team up show will pit our heroes “against the immortal Vandal Savage.”
With this being our first look at Ciara Renée as Kendra Saunders and Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall in costume I can’t help but think that they’ve taken a great modernized approach to their armor. The two have a very similar past to their comic counter parts as their powers are “derived from the ancient Egyptian hawk god, Horus.” While there is no mention of the metal that helps give them their powers in the comics, we also have found out that “Kendra and Carter are destined to reincarnate through time as winged, helmeted warriors.” This is most likely a direct play on their long history of being soulmates.

So, for the most part their costumes are on point. I’m sure that some feathers will be added either before shooting or in post production and if I was going to complain it would be that Hawkman isn’t quite as buff as one would imagine and that his spiked mace is a little on the smaller side. As we don’t know if feathers or mace will be changing there is always a chance those minor complaints could disappear by the time the duo hits the small screen.
