Bruce Campbell might be pretty busy with ‘Ash vs Evil Dead‘ but he still has room on his plate to both host and produce an upcoming horror competition reality series for 5X5 Media! The project is tentatively being called ‘Bruce Campbell’s Horrified’ though it doesn’t look as if the name is set in stone at this time. It is being shopped around as the horror equivalent of TBS’ ‘King Of The Nerds’. Campbell will be joined in the Executive Producer’s chair by 5X5 Media’s Craig Armstrong, Rick Ringbakk, and Charles Wachter.

The rumored vision has all of the contestants living in a haunted house or similar setting. They would compete in both team and individual challenges with each episode having its own sub-theme of horror where the contestants would have to survive or solve the problems that arise from that theme.

While it wouldn’t happen unless possibly Syfy picks the show up this would be a great place to have a tie-in with ‘Face Off’ and have them design the monsters that appear.

Armstrong says that much like ‘King of the Nerds’ and ‘Face Off’ that “we hope to bring celebrities associated with that genre as judges.”

When they do the initial casting for the first season the series will be trying to find “die-hard, obsessive, funny, bigger than life characters in the horror space.”

Hail to the king Baby, Bruce is back on the air and with a vengeance! First ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ and now this? It is a good year to be a fan of Bruce! This could be quite the entertaining series if done right and with Campbell’s mastery of delivering one liners set to horror I think it is something we can all get behind.
