It’s that time of year again when obscure teasers for the upcoming season of ‘American Horror Story’ begin to invade the interweb and as fans of this macabre show, we’re eating it up! Just as in the past, the footage gives some hints about what viewers will be seeing and it is left to our imagination what it all means.
The first teaser was simplistic enough with a silver painted hand encased in a lacy bejeweled sleeve ringing the bell to check in. Is that the same hand that appears in the teaser below? Better yet, is that supposed to be Lady Gaga’s hand?
With Jessica Lange not part of the show’s ensemble cast, the series has a big void to fill. But with the addition of Mother Monster and the return of Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett as well as regular (or as regular as you can get with this anthology series) cast members Evan Peters, Dennis O’Hare, Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson, this new season is still sounds impressive. Add in past guest stars such as Chloe Sevigny, Matt Bomer, Finn Wittrock and Wes Bentley and the addition of Naomi Campbell in the mix, and we’ve got the makings of a hotel that will give the Overlook from ‘The Shining’ a run for its money.
After some ups and downs with the past two seasons, FX has promised that ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ will reinvent the franchise with a lot of changes from the previous season. Personally, I enjoyed ‘Freak Show’ but am looking forward to what I hope is the return of the magic felt in the first couple seasons.
