The promotional blitz for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ has recently started, so that means that we’re bound to get an excess of posters, trailers, commercials, and stills in the coming weeks. However, in between all the hype for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes before their next big screen adventure in May, it appears that we should be seeing more of the Sentinel of Liberty very soon because ‘Captain America: Civil War’ begins shooting in less than two weeks. But first, it looks like we have the very first synopsis for Anthony and Joe Russo’s next Marvel Studios film featuring the Star-Spangled Avenger.

According to a casting call uncovered by Collider, ‘Captain America: Civil War’ should start filming in Atlanta, Georgia on April 1, 2015. The production is currently looking for multicultural extras and along with that notice, the first synopsis for Steve Rogers’ next solo adventure was included. Basically, it’s almost exactly what comic fans are expecting, but you can see for yourself below:

Following the events of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

Though we’re likely to get something a bit more fancy when shooting actually begins, this description basically follows suit with the polarizing 2006 Marvel Comics crossover event from writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven except for the mention of global governments getting involved. That definitely explains how Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther gets involved, but now many people are probably wondering where the allegiances of Avengers such as Black Widow, Falcon, and Hawkeye lie since Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, and Jeremy Renner have already been announced as part of the cast. Things will probably be clearer once Joss Whedon’s upcoming Phase Two film kicks off the summer movie season.

What do you think about the first synopsis for ‘Captain America: Civil War’? Which Avengers do you think will side with Steve Rogers over Tony Stark? And what other characters do you see being added to the mix (besides Spider-Man)? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments below.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
