Rumors of Hawkeye’s demise in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ appear to be just that as Jeremy Renner is now confirmed to appear in ‘Captain America: Civil War‘! This actually shouldn’t be too surprising as previously he had said that “There are rumblings of ‘Captain America 3.’ I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man. [Laughs] I’m trying to stay home and I can’t.” While that comment was vague enough to be hinting at his surviving through in the next Avengers film, it could also have just been misdirection.

So unless they are using Renner in a flashback, he’ll still be alive by the end of the next Avengers film.

Rumors aside, we’re happy to know that it was just reported that he is set to shoot Captain America: Civil War this spring before other projects he has lined up. With ‘Captain America: Civil War’ being the next gig that Scarlett Johansson has, we’ll see the two sharing some on screen time again. It makes me wonder on which side of the face off between Iron Man and Captain America these two are going to land on.

Of course, the following tweets could be a hint as to what side Hawkeye will end up on. Either that or he is having a lot of fun trolling the fans!

With the attached image in Renner’s tweet:

Now this is pure teasing as I’m sure we won’t be finding out who takes which side at any point in the near future. At least he’ll be showing up unlike all of the speculation that he was going to appear in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘ where he wasn’t even mentioned. Of course none of this is fully official until Marvel makes the announcement but enough information has leaked out at this point to have us confident that it will be happening.

Are you happy to hear that Hawkeye will survive for at least another movie? Do you think he’ll end up suiting up behind Cap or Iron Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

‘Captain America: Civil War’ hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
