The production for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ doesn’t officially start off until April but Bryan Singer has released a new piece of concept art from the film! His last teaser was from the set of the film and hinted at a familiar door opening to something new. This new image? A ship that will be in the film.

Grant Major (‘Lord of the Rings’) is the film’s production designer and is responsible for this piece. Anyone who knows the story of Apocalypse will quite likely place this as the ship that will turn En Sabah Nur into Apocalypse for the first time. Well, depending how similar this is to his comic origins at least. Of course, the image just as likely could be Apocalypse first getting his powers or being awakened. The coloring of the character could hint at an X-Men stumbling upon where Apocalypse is sleeping and accidentally awakening him.

Some production art. #XmenApocalypse #GrantMajor I was a little busy but will continue to snap more.

It sure looks stunning enough for concept art and I can’t wait to see how Oscar Isaac takes on the role. One of the usual story lines that is tied into Apocalypse being awakened is that he also chooses four horsemen from the time period to be his heralds. While one of the new mutants being added in the film could be fun, I think a better idea might be to take some of the existing mutants from ‘X-Men: First Class’ to be used as the Horsemen and that is why Xavier needs to recruit the next generation.

Are you looking forward to ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’? Do you think this is the moment that Apocalypse first gains his power or is being awakened in the 80s where this film takes place? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
