While shooting isn’t set to begin on Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ until April, the director has shared a few set photos after a recent visit. Singer did a great job at teasing early set photos for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘ and I suspect that we’ll be getting just as many teasers this time around. In the first photo we see some doors that will be very familiar to fans of the series. You will recognize them as the one that typically opens to Cerebro where Professor X searches for new mutants. This time it sounds like they’ll be opening elsewhere else.

Here’s the caption for the photo:

“I know. Old door. But there’ll be something new behind it. #XmenApocalypse

Let’s take a look at the image itself!

One theory out there is that this time the door might be opening into the Danger Room which was first shown in ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.’ Singer has wanted a variation of this in both ‘X-Men’ and ‘X2,’ but due to budgeting concerns he was never able to get it on screen.

While Brett Ratner’s third film failed on quite a few levels, the Danger Room was one of the stand out moments. In that film, we were able to see the X-Men going up against a Sentinel for training. A prototype version of the Danger Room was also later shown in the prequel ‘X-Men: First Class.’ It was an extremely basic version of what we would later see used in ‘The Last Stand.’ My thoughts is that there is a good chance we’ll be seeing our new team that includes Cyclops, Jean, and Storm using one for training.

Personally, I’m excited to see what he has in mind as I feel that Singer has been able to do a good job with the movies which he was responsible for.

Are you looking forward to ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’? Any guesses as to what might be behind the door? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
