Casting has officially kicked off on Starz upcoming ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ as two of Bruce Campbell’s co-stars and their roles have been revealed! With the Deadites returning at full steam, I’m happy we’re finding out who else is going to be showing up in the series.

To help fight off the evil forced from the Necronomicon, we’ll be seeing Ray Santiago (‘In Time,’ ’Touch’) and Dana Delorenzo (‘The Impression Guys’,’The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’) on board.

Santiago is set to play Pablo Simon Bolivar. Bolivar is an immigrant who appears to know all about Ash’s history as he has arrived in America to become his devoted follower. In fact he is so devoted that he appears to be referred to as “Sancho Panza to Ash’s Don Quixote.”

He is an optimist and works endlessly to try and keep Ash to believe in himself the way that Bolivar believes in him. While at one point we heard that a male co-star would put Ash in a “male bonding” situation, I can see the character either hating or taking advantage of someone following him.

Secondly we have DeLorenzo playing Kelly Maxwell. Kelly is a party girl who is running from her past. Like most of the women in Ash’s life, she is pulled into the ongoing battle between Ash and all that is evil without much say in the matter. However, soon she feels that the situation that she is in has a familial feel to it.

I’m just curious what kind of a family this will be as Ash tends to be a womanizer. At the very least he tries to be. How is he going to react to having a “party girl” hanging around him all the time?

I’m not sure if eating a Quizno’s sub though is going to put her in the role of a party girl in your minds. Lets try this one instead!

I mean, let’s be honest, if you’ve seen the ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Army of Darkness’ movies how exactly fatherly or brotherly do you expect the character to act with her around? I’m sure he’s aged well considering we find him trying to avoid saving the world once again as the series opens.
