Sony has released a gameplay video of the sequence of ‘Until Dawn’ that was showcased during the recent PlayStation Experience event.

Though a small piece of gameplay of the upcoming horror adventure game was shown during ‘The Video Game Awards 2014,’ the new footage below shows an extended version of that very same gameplay complete with the added terror that you might come to expect from a game that is all about re-creating the scares of a teen horror slasher flick.

‘Until Dawn’ puts players in control of a group of eight teenagers who come together at a mountain getaway only to be thrown into a night of terror when a serial killer shows up to hunt each and every one of them down.

While a seemingly linear cinematic adventure game experience at heart, the biggest draw of ‘Until Dawn’ is that anyone in the game’s story can live or die throughout the course of the night, meaning that player actions determine who makes it through to the end of the game.

According to reports, ‘Until Dawn’ is looking to have upwards of a thousand different endings, which are made possible by the game’s “Butterfly Tech,” a system that that pays close attention to any action made in the game, whether small or big, and impacts that towards what occurs during the events of the story.

Worth mentioning is that ‘Until Dawn’ is set to feature some Hollywood talent to play characters in the game, including people like Hayden Panettiere (‘Heroes’), Brett Dalton (‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’), and Rami Malek (‘Night at the Museum’).

Developed by Supermassive Games, ‘Until Dawn’ was originally announced at Gamescom 2012 as first person horror title for the PS3 that exclusively featured PS Move Support. However, the game was reintroduced once more during Gamescom 2014 as a PS4 exclusive title, dropping the PS Move in favor of the features and functionality of the Dualshock 4 controller.

‘Until Dawn’ is scheduled to release on PS4 sometime in 2015.
