During Marvel Studios’ special event this morning, many thought that we’d be getting confirmation that Benedict Cumberbatch would be starring as the Sorcerer Supreme in ‘Doctor Strange’ since this announcement was something that has been teased since San Diego Comic Con 2014. Instead, we got the whole line-up of Phase Three and learned who would be sitting on the throne of Wakanda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
At the El Capitan Theater this morning, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed the nine movies that would make up Phase Three. Among those was ‘Black Panther,’ which is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017. However, that won’t be the first time that we’ll be seeing T’Challa, the ruler of the African nation known for their abundance of vibranium. When talk shifted to ‘Captain America: Civil War’, Feige brought out stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and the Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman.
Best known for his roles as Jackie Robinson in ‘42’ and James Brown in ‘Get On Up’, Boseman has built up a career on the small screen by appearing in such shows as ‘Justified’, ‘Fringe’, ‘Castle’, ‘Persons Unknown’, and ‘Lincoln Heights’. He also has done some work as a playwright and a screenwriter, but since 2013, he has been carving out quite the place for himself on the big screen.
And regarding his appearance in the third solo film for the Sentinel of Liberty prior to his 2017 adventure on his own, Boseman will appear in costume as Black Panther in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ to kick off Phase Three when governments of the world decided that they want some regulation when it comes to their superheroes.
