First we found out that former Wonder Woman Adrianne Palicki was joining ABC’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ now comes word that another actor is joining the series which ties into Marvel’s cinematic universe.  ‘Teen Wolf’ cast member Brian Patrick Wade is joining the show as a familiar villain, Carl “Crusher” Creel, a villain from the comic books who is better known as the Absorbing Man, a villain that has mostly troubled Thor. Creel was also included in the villain super group in ‘Marvel Super Hero Secret Wars’ and was also a member of the Masters of Evil.  He has been romantically linked to powerhouse Titania, who debuted in the ‘Secret Wars’ miniseries.

The Absorbing Man has the power to absorb the properties of any substance he touches, for instance rock-hard concrete.  He originally derived his power from drinking a magical Asgardian potion.

Wade joins a growing list of actors joining the show for its sophomore season, including Palicki, Lucy Lawless who will be playing Agent Isabelle Hartley (possibly a misdirect, I’m still banking on Valentina De La Fontaine), Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, Henry Simmons and Kyle McLachlan as Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and “Skye’s Father” respectively.

Wade has already begun filming his episode.  You can check out the photo below to get an idea what to expect:

And here is the comic book version:

What do you think?  Is this a good match?  Are you excited to see this comic book villain hit TV screens?  Do you think we can expect a cameo by a character from the ‘Thor’ movie.

Season 2 of ‘Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’ premieres Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
