After Megan Fox and Michael Bay had a falling out over ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moo’ in 2010, many were surprised to hear in 2013 that the actress was cast as April O’Neil in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, the Jonathan Liebesman film being produced by Bay and his Platinum Dunes company for Paramount Pictures. While the initial reaction varied from confused to angry to indifferent, there was a degree of backlash from the TMNT fan base over this casting decision. However, Fox knows that it comes with the territory of appearing in a reboot of such a beloved property.

In a recent interview with MTV, the actress shared that she is aware that there has been some sort of buzz around her playing the yellow jumpsuit-wearing reporter pal of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. Despite being okay with the fact that you can’t please everyone all the time, Fox says that she doesn’t know the exact reaction since she steers clear from the internet unless she’s feeding her shopping addiction. You can check out her comments in the video below:

Considering that this isn’t the first time Fox is starring in a new adaptation of a highly nostalgic story, she’s probably used to the rapid fans and their inclination to hate everything just because it’s not the original. It’s good to see that she’s still staying optimistic about her projects regardless of the mixed reactions to her movies or even at the sound of her name being anywhere near a production.

With all the trailers, stills, clips and TV spots out there now, what do you think about Megan Fox playing April O’Neil in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’? Are you on board with the casting choice or are you among those who are not pleased? Let us know in the comments.
