We’re closing in on the September 22nd premiere date for Fox’s ‘Gotham’ and the advertising is starting to hit so today we have a new teaser trailer to share with you! The show that gives us the beginning of the boy who would become Batman will be focusing primarily on the good of newly minted Detective Gordon and the evil that already exists in the city that only grows in madness as the years go on.

I have to take a moment here to say that I am completely jealous of all of you attending SDCC that will get a chance to see the pilot premiere. If it is even half as good as the early reviews have been touting, this will be a true treat to watch!

This latest teaser is short but does a great job at grabbing your attention. In it you’ll see Gordon striding into a crime scene with Harvey Bullock also on hand. You’ll also see shots of the young Selina Kyle, Oswald Cobblepot, Fish Mooney, and Edward Nigma. All of these criminals are future super villains that are in their early years prior to their iconic transformations.

The voice over from Gordon has him returning to the city he loves because it “is at a tipping point” and he doesn’t feel that there are many others out there who are willing to fight for the city to become what it once was. He continues on that “This is my city, I’ve come back because I care what’s happening to it. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who cares. This town is at a tipping point. Crime and corruption ooze from every corner. Someone needs to take a stand against it all — and that is where we come in.”

That makes you wonder exactly how much of an influence this Gordon will have on the young Bruce Wayne as it almost feel like something the future Dark Knight may end up saying.

Synopsis:

Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker. GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

‘Gotham’ will air Monday nights beginning September 22 at 8 p.m. on the FOX network.
