The wait for the holiday season of 2015 is on as Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have revealed the trailer and details about ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ at this year’s E3… and WOW does the game look amazing!

In the game. we continue to follow in the footsteps of the 2013 reboot of ‘Tomb Raider’ as Lara Croft journeys further into the secret world that is hidden all around us. While she wants to learn more about what is going on, not everyone is happy with her exploring the ancient burial grounds and searching for secrets — especially the shadowy organization that is intent on stopping her by any means necessary.

First up, we’ve got three promotional shots of Croft in the wild to share with you!

Looking good so far. It isn’t just the art that we have to look forward to as thankfully it would appear that the high level of quality in the first game of the rebooted saga will continue. Rhianna Pratchett is back to write the sequel to the first installment and Camilla Luddington will be back to continue in her role as Lara Croft.

According to Microsoft, “Featuring epic, high-octane action moments, [Rise of the Tomb Raider] will take gamers to multiple locations around the world, filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth. In addition, after hearing the cry from fans loud and clear, the game will put the tombs back into Tomb Raider, all in the franchise’s gritty survival-action style.”

Check out the trailer that was revealed at E3 below followed by the game’s synopsis:

In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Featuring epic, high-octane action moments, Rise of the Tomb Raider will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth. In addition, after hearing the cry from fans loud and clear, the game will put the tombs back into “Tomb Raider” all in the franchise’s gritty Survival-Action style.

There is no news if the game is an Xbox One exclusive (timed or not) or of it will be available on the PC and PlayStation 4 as well. My money is on a timed exclusive with how it was announced.
