In a world gone wrong we have nothing to fear but apes themselves! At least that is the idea you can get from the latest promotional material for ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.’ Of special notice is a featurette that helps bridge the gap between ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘ and the new installment. This one is clearly for everyone who wasn’t interested in reading the novel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm by Greg Keyes which did a slightly more in depth job of the same concept. Still, its a fun featurette (if you enjoy watching about the end of mankind.)

The featurette is really a good transition between the two films and honestly it is footage that may not be included in the movie.  While the two teasers are something you’ll be seeing already if you plan on going to see the film, the featurette will set the stage and the tone for ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.’ It shows the spread of the virus that wipes out a majority of humanity’s population and let’s be honest ,a global pandemic is a terrifying way for our species to go.

Next up is the TV teaser ‘Retaliate’ where we see some new footage and hints of the choices of what happens when humanity and the apes have to choose to work together or fight for the future of the Earth. I think we all have long known what is going to happen here:

Besides the featurette and TV spot, we also have an international trailer that also includes some new footage from the film!

Visually the movie is really looking to be coming together well and with a stronger cast I think we’re going to be getting a fun, action filled take on the fall of civilization as we know it.

Are you looking forward to ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’? Do you think the trailers have been doing a good enough job at grabbing our attention? (And not just with how many have been released.) Share your thoughts below!
