The new Japanese trailer for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ from 20th Century Fox is amazing!
It opens in theaters on May 23 and, I for one, will be there! I mean honestly, check out this line up! The cast is just incredible: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, Lucas Till and Evan Jonigkeit.
My appreciation of of Sir Patrick Stewart is no secret, but I’ve discovered that I am very impressed with Peter Dinklage. His work on ‘Game of Thrones‘ is simply impeccable. And I’m very much anticipating seeing him on the big screen in this role!
The film is based on the 1981 Uncanny X-Men storyline “Days of Future Past” by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. Man, I don’t know what it is about Byrne’s work that blows me away, he is by far one of my favorite comic artist’s of all time.
‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ brings the heroes together with younger versions of themselves in an epic battle for the survival of the species across two time periods. They must change the past, to save the future! Wolverine, (Hugh Jackman) seems to be taking a pivotal role in the film, as he is swept back to the past to warn of the dangers the Sentinels present.
I’m curious to see how Jennifer Lawrence, (Mystique) plays out. There is even talk of spinning off Mystique, franchise producer Lauren Schuler Donner stated:
“There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it. I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”
It appears that alongside Jackman’s part in the film, her’s too is a vital role. But enough of the speculation, let’s take a look at the epic trailer! (The Japanese announcer sounds just as excited as we are!)
The film is scheduled to hit both 2D and 3D theaters on May 23rd.
