We just found out that ‘Rosemary’s Baby‘ finally had a release date of May 11th, 2014 and now we have a full trailer for the miniseries.
The trailer shows the young love of Zoe Saldana as Rosemary and Patrick J. Adams as Guy who are living the perfect life. Only things aren’t so perfect when they find out that their little bundle of joy to be is potentially the Antichrist. Well, that is Rosemary finds that out. The love of her life, Guy, may have made a deal that caused this to happen.
Based on the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin, this new adaptation of “Rosemary’s Baby” centers on a young married couple who escapes New York and moves to Paris with hopes of leaving their sad past behind. After a series of unfortunate events, Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse are presented with an offer they can’t refuse – an apartment at the most prestigious address in the city. Problem is, it comes with a haunted past and an immeasurable price.
I have to say that while I am usually against remakes, that ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ didn’t age that well in some areas so one may be due. It is still creepy and fans who have seen it a while back can appreciate the Roman Polanski directed Oscar nominated film for the iconic piece of horror that it is, but I have no problems with this film being redone. Being a huge fan of Saldana only adds to the thought that this could end up to be a great watch! I’m just glad she got this in before the upcoming ‘Avatar’ sequels, another ‘Star Trek’ film, and most likely a sequel to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. I have a feeling seeing her in horror is going to be taking a back seat to seeing her in science fiction for years to come.
