Many may recall that before Chris Evans became the Star Spangled Avenger, he was Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, in the 2005 film the ‘Fantastic Four’. Since the ‘Fantastic Four’ is being rebooted and recasted, we know that Evans will not be reprising his role as he is busy with some other comic movie that you may have heard of called ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘. So with this news, it is time to pass the torch – the Human Torch, that is. Thankfully there is no hard feelings as Evans passed it over to Michael B. Jordan (‘Chronicle’, ‘Fruitvale Station’) in style!

The two were recently hanging out and according to the caption by Jordan, “The Torch has been passed! #FlameOn”.

Even if that heartfelt moment was all there was, that wasn’t enough as Evans recently sat down and spoke up on his feelings towards Jordan as the next Torch:

“It’s so funny, you almost feel precious over the role that you don’t want someone else to do it. But when you hear someone phenomenal is doing it, it’s very exciting like you almost can’t wait… I couldn’t even give that guy any advice if I wanted, that guy is so good… It’s exciting to see what he’s going to do, because I know he’s going to reinvent it in a way that I could never have imagined… It’s almost like we’re sharing, the character is ours. I feel like I’m connected with him in a way, It’s a nice feeling.”

I’m sure even if there was any doubts of someone else taking the role he had perfected, they are long gone with how amazing he has been in wielding the shield of Marvel’s most patriotic character.
