It looks as if the producers of ‘Arrow’ have saved the best for last for DC Comics fans.  As the second season of the hit CW action series grows closer to its finale, the show is serving up some major fan service.  This week, in episode 2.16 fans got to see a live action take on ‘The Suicide Squad’, DC’s covert operations team composed of convicted criminals working in order to shorten their sentences.  Next week, we get another major treat when The Huntress (played by Jessica DeGouw) returns to face Black Canary (Caity Lotz) as ‘The Birds of Prey’.

In the comics, ‘The Birds of Prey’ are a team of female operatives led by Oracle and both Black Canary and The Huntress are longtime members.  Their interaction on ‘Arrow’, however sounds more antagonistic.

Here is the official synopsis:

WHEN THE HUNTRESS MET THE CANARY — When Frank Bertinelli (guest star Jeffrey Nordling) is arrested, Oliver (Stephen Amell) knows it’s only a matter of time before his daughter, Helena, AKA The Huntress (guest star Jessica De Gouw), returns to town. To make matters worse, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is picked to try Frank’s case, putting her right in the path of Helena. Oliver tells Sara (Caity Lotz) he will handle his ex-girlfriend, but when Helena takes hostages at the courthouse, including Laurel, the Canary will stop at nothing to save her sister. When The Huntress and Canary meet, an epic battle begins. Meanwhile, Roy (Colton Haynes) realizes he needs to keep Thea (Willa Holland) safe, but doesn’t like the way he is forced to go about it. John Behring directed the episode written by Mark Bemesderfer & A.C. Bradley (#217).

To promote the episode, The CW has released over 20 new still photographs, showcasing Black Canary, The Huntress, Laurel not to mention The Arrow and Quentin Lance.  Check out the gallery below!
