Marvel Studios’ Phase Two is looking to bring the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos. We’ve previously seen a bit of that in ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Thor: The Dark World’, but come 2014, we’ll be immersed in it when ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ rockets into theaters around the world. But even some hardcore comic fans don’t really know what to expect from James Gunn’s upcoming film. Luckily, we have the most dangerous woman in the universe to enlighten us.
While speaking with MTV News, Zoe Saldana, who will play the green Guardian Gamora, sheds some light on how this movie will not only be different than the other Marvel movies, but superhero movies in general. The actress seems to be extremely proud of the work that her and the crew put into this film and she’s not afraid to admit it. Check out what she has to say in the video below:
Heroes out of thieves sounds like an interesting idea. There have been a couple of those throughout sci-fi cinema history like Han Solo of ‘Star Wars’ and the crew of a little ship called Serenity from a short-lived show that was created by Gunn’s good friend and Marvel overlord Joss Whedon. Could we be seeing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s equivalent of ‘Firefly’ when ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ finally comes out? Possibly, except Captain Mal didn’t really fight alongside trees and talking raccoons. But even if we aren’t, this movie already sounds different than any other superhero flicks in the pipeline at any studio, so label me intrigued and excited for it’s release.
