It’s almost here! Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the bewitching hour to begin, when ‘American Horror Story: Coven‘ premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 9th.

For those of you living under a rock, here is the official synopsis for the upcoming season:

“American Horror Story: Coven” tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.”

To keep your desire at bay, we’ve put up some new photos, below are a few of our favorites.

In addition to these smokey, sultry and across the board sassy photos, a new featurette has been included here for your viewing pleasure.

What’s interesting about this featurette is that it takes a real in-depth look at what voodoo actually is, and provides credible sources on the subject to take part in the discussion. If A’HS’ puts this must realism into the season, and weeds out all of the misconceptions on the religion, then it seems like we’re in for some pretty powerful stuff this year. It would be fascinating to see the actual beliefs and spiritual history of voodoo as opposed to the Hollywood version of what it actually is. Don’t get me wrong, orgies in the woods and being possessed by the devil sounds like fun, but getting a taste of the real deal would be amazing.

Let us know in the comments section below if you think ‘AHS’ can stay true to the pure form of voodoo and witchcraft or if they’re going to go haywire like last year.
