When Battlefield 3 was released, it took the gaming world by storm. While the franchise used to be the go-to for multiplayer gaming, recent years had seen Call of Duty dominate the market. Battlefield 3 changed that, once again solidifying it’s place in the first-person shooter market as an incredible multiplayer experience, while featuring an exceptional single-player campaign as well.

It was only a matter of time before Battlefield 4 was announced, and so far, the game is exceeding all expectations. EA recently held a full reveal of the next entry to this popular franchise, and best of all, shared an incredible-looking 17-minute gamplay video which you can watch below.

It’s hard to deny that the game is visually impressive. Running on the new Frostbite 3 engine, Battlefield 4 will feature plenty of environmental destruction and some of the best graphics to date. The version being played is most likely running on a PC, but EA has confirmed that it will also be available on Xbox 360 and PS3. However, they still have yet to confirm a next-generation platform release, though this may just be because the new Microsoft console still has yet to be revealed.

Very few details have been given other than what is in the trailer, but the publisher has announced a multiplayer beta set to begin this fall with a full launch shortly after. EA is expected to show more at this year’s E3 in June, and we’ll have more updates as they come.
