The first image and some concept art from Korean director Boon Joon-ho’s first English language feature film, ‘Snowpiercer’ has arrived online and we have it here for you to see!
The film is based on the French graphic novel ‘Le Transperceniege’ and is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future after an experiment to stop global warming failed causing an Ice Age that kills all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the world powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system develops among the passengers and a revolution begins to brew.
The official image below features Korean actor Song Kang-ho in what looks to be in the lower class cabin area of the train and it doesn’t look like they are faring too well. There are also some great concept art photos that shows off the surrounding areas of the frozen earth, the exterior of the train and a couple interior images.
‘Snowpiercer’ is said to currently be in post-production with the hopes that the film will be released sometime in the summer. From the sound of the synopsis and the look of the concept art given so far, this film may be the movie that will make director Joon-ho a hot commodity in Hollywood. Hopefully a trailer will be released soon.
Once we find out when ‘Snowpiercer’ will be released, well let you know! In the meantime, check out the images below!
