It seems the Autobots and Decepticons will never cease to be at war with each other. The fight has been covered through countless animated series, movies, and video games, but this time it’s being brought to fans in a whole new way.

Transformers Universe is an upcoming browser-based, massively-multiplayer online game from developer Jagex Games Studio. While little is known about the specifics of gameplay, Transformers Universe will allows players to create their very own transforming robots, fighting for either the Autobots or Decepticons in a never-ending struggle.

It has been announced that the game will revolve around team-based actions, and will be strictly player-versus-player. Players will also have access to different character classes and customization options. Transformers Universe will be free-to-play, though it is unknown if the game will feature micro-transactions.

No release date has been announced, but gamers can register for beta access through the game’s official website, which launched today.

Jagex Games Studio specializes in browser-based gaming, and is most well-known for their MMORPG RuneScape, which holds the title of being the largest free-to-play MMORPG. ScienceFiction.com will have more updates as they come, but check out the game’s trailer below.
