Although Saturday’s installment of ‘Doctor Who’ is not the last to feature Amy Pond and Rory Williams, photos from their farewell episode recently popped up online prematurely. These photos were supposed to not appear until midnight on Tuesday, September 25th, but in some nonlinear timey wimey spacey wacey sort of way, they are now here several days early.

The images are very spoiler-worthy, so if you had planned on watching the episode with a clean slate then you’ll probably want to skip this ‘Doctor Who’ update. How spoiler-worthy is it you ask? The way the 26 photos are arranged, it could be set up as a flip book. Add this to the photos and videos of this episode that were taken while the cast was in New York, and you have pretty much have the majority of the episode in pictures.

Several teaser synopses have been released describing the episode. Here are a few starting with the official BBC synopsis:

The Doctor’s heart-breaking farewell to Amy and Rory – a race against time through the streets of Manhattan, as New York’s statues come to life around them…

Synopsis teaser #2:

With Rory’s life in danger, the Doctor and Amy must locate him before it’s too late! Luckily, an old friend helps them and guides the way.

Synopsis teaser #3:

New York 2012 and New York 1912, a hundred year gap, with something scarily in common, something unnatural, and whatever you do – do not blink.

And here’s one given by the Moff (showrunner Steven Moffat to us Whovians) to Radio Times:

The Doctor, Amy and Rory visit modern-day New York. But the Weeping Angels are lurking here too. When one of the TARDIS crew is zapped back to 1938, Amy discovers that time can’t always be rewritten, not once it’s written in stone.

“Never let him see the damage. And never, ever let him see you age. He doesn’t like endings.”

The Doctor has been dropping in on the Ponds for some years now, and he’s barely even noticed that his little Amelia Pond is now wearing reading glasses.

Surely nothing has to change now? Surely this can go on for ever? Has the wandering Time Lord at last found a family and the nearest thing to a home he could imagine?

But out there in New York the Weeping Angels are waiting for them all, and a very different destiny is falling into place. Not even River Song can save them from the terrible events to come.

Heartbreak is always a terrible thing. But imagine if you had two of them…”

Grab the hankies and get ready for the final farewell as you click through the photos. ‘Doctor Who: The Angels Take Manhattan’ aires next Saturday, September 29th at 9PM ET/PT on BBC America.
