A nun walks into the woods… if this wasn’t from the demented minds behind ‘American Horror Story’ then the statement would be a great start to a joke. But instead, it’s the eerie teaser for the upcoming season of ‘American Horror Story: Asylum.’

Now when we say teaser, we mean just that. Only 19 seconds in length, the teaser exudes enough creepiness to remind us why we loved the first season so much while at the same time leaving us knowing nothing of what this installment of the series will be about. What exactly is in those buckets?

With a little over 2 months before the season premiere, you can bet upcoming teasers and trailers will only get more freaky. Don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait!

This season, the show will have a new premise, a new setting and a new location. Set in 1964, returning cast member, Jessica Lange, will play a nun who runs an insane asylum in the East Coast that used to be a tuberculosis ward. Also returning to the show, but in completely different roles than in the first season, are Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Lily Rabe. With a slew of guest stars including James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Adam Levine, Mark Consuelos and Chloe Sevigney, the asylum will be filled with characters that stretch the boundaries of what is sane and insane. Show runner Ryan Murphy has said that this year’s theme will be about sanity and tackling real life horrors. In other words, get ready to have your minds blown again once more when the series returns!

Check out the teaser below and let the speculations of what it all means begin!
