Adam Levine may be well known as the front man of the group Maroon 5 and a reality star in his own right from the NBC hit ‘The Voice,’ but it looks like he is now looking to venture into the realm of scripted television as he is in final negotiations to star in next season’s ‘American Horror Story.’

In what will be his acting debut, Levine will be playing one half of a contemporary couple called ‘The Lovers.’ Apparently the producers of ‘American Horror Story’ are so keen on having Levine on board that they are making arrangements to shoot his scenes around his band’s summer touring schedule.

So far details about the second season of ‘American Horror Story’ has been kept secret, but what we do know is that it will involve a whole new set of characters and be set in an “institution” somewhere in the East Coast. Jessica Lange will be returning in a new role who will be the focus of this season’s story. Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe will also return in all new roles. We also know that the producers are looking to cast someone for the role of Gia, a “ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot who harbors a secret” a la Angelina Jolie in the movie ‘Girl, Interrupted.’ (And here I thought we’ve seen the last of the rubber suit!) Gia will be the nemesis of Lange’s character!

‘American Horror Story’ is set to begin production in July with a premiere date in the third week of October so expect to hear more as we get closer to those dates!
