In an interview with IGN, Lyndsy Fonesca spoke about her involvement in the upcoming sequel ‘Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.’

With filming to being soon, most of the cast from the original movie have signed on to return and that includes Fonesca. If you recall, Fonesca played Kick-Ass’ girlfriend, Katie Deauxma. However, because of her regular gig on the CW show ‘Nikita,’ we may not see very much of Katie this time around.

“Somehow I’m supposed to do Kick-Ass 2 this year,” she says, “I’m so excited, and I just pray that it all works out! I don’t know. They know that I’m on the show, so it’s not going to be a month of work because I can’t. I can’t do it. But I’ll at least be able to do something, which is very kind of them.”

At the time of the interview, Fonseca had read the latest draft of the script for ‘Kick-Ass 2’ and deemed it “fantastic.” She went on to say that “it actually plays really well with how Chloe has grown up a little bit, but she’s not yet a young woman. I loved it. I think it’s really good.”

For now, however, it looks like she may be able to fit in filming the movie in her busy schedule. “She’s just in the beginning, so far,” she revealed and went on to say how enthusiastic she was about the project and those involved. “(Jeff Wadlow)’s very excited, and I’m excited. Matthew (Vaughn)’s producing it, but I think it will be kind of cool to have a new point of view for the sequel.”

As for what to expect with Katie this time around, Fonesca laughing answered, “”She’s still the strange Katie – somewhat girl next door but has strange, drug-addict boyfriends and works at the needle exchange. Very contradicting personality traits… It’s still that weird!”

Although there is no formal release date, the film’s Facebook page has teased sometime in 2013.
