Guess which sci-fi star is going to take a bite out of the HBO series ‘True Blood?’ It’s none other than the ‘Termainator 2’ actor himself, Robert Patrick!
Patrick is a fan favorite first gaining notice in the sci-fi community with his portrayal of T-1000 in ‘Terminator 2.’ Since then he starred in the ‘X-Files’ as John Doggett and has appeared in several sci-fi shows and films including ‘Stargate: Atlantis,’ ‘Lost,’ ‘Chuck,’ and ‘Spy Kids.’ He will be starring in the new ABC drama ‘Last Resort’ as a master chief on a NATO sub coming this fall.
In ‘True Blood,’ Patrick will be playing the role of Jackson Herveaux, father of Alcide. He’ll first appear in a flashback episode when Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and Debbie (Brit Morgan) were teenagers in the 1980’s. The Jackson in the past will be vastly different than the one in present day. In the flashback, we’ll see him as a “powerful, inspiring and heroic’ guy but somehow that changes as he is now a man who has given up on life.
Patrick will be making his debut as Jackson in the August 5 episode titled ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World.’ So far it looks like he’ll appear in at least 2 episodes. You may recall, Alcide was first introduced into the ‘True Blood’ universe in Season 3 because his father (Patrick) owed a debt to Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) so we may be getting a lot more backstory once Patrick’s episodes air.
In addition, we also have a first look of how Patrick will look in his debut episode!
It looks like ‘True Blood’ is making up for the lack luster season of last year with the introduction of Chris Meloni and the Authority and now the great casting of Patrick. Although the series just aired its first episode of the season (‘Turn, Turn, Turn’), it does look like the show has gotten its bite back!
