Like they said at Geek Tyrant, this is probably the weirdest thing I’m going to see all day. And that’s saying a lot considering Wizard World is in Philly starting today and hosting a Superhero Bar Crawl tonight.

In this very peculiar trailer for the new sci-fi drama called ‘Branded’ from a couple of ad guys named Alexander Doulerain and Jamie Bradshaw, who have drawn some conclusions about the nature of marketing, an evil advertising company uses creatures hidden in their ads to influence and manipulate the public’s thoughts and desires. One man starts seeing the creatures and tries to fight back by using his own marketing skills to stop him.

This sounds like one of those weird movies that we’d see on SyFy late at night, and for all we know, that’s what we could end up getting. A weird over the top plot paired with very weird looking monsters? Sounds like grade-A B-movie material to me.

Here’s the official synopsis, followed by the trailer for the movie for you to see how weird it is for yourself:

“After Misha skyrockets to the top of the advertising business, a tragic mishap on the set of one of his productions torpedoes his career and he retreats into self-imposed exile. Ten years later, Misha returns to a radically changed world and finds himself plagued by visions of bizarre and terrifying creatures with the ability to influence people’s thoughts, desires and actions. Creatures only he can see.

He soon realizes the creatures are part of a clandestine campaign unleashed by a rival advertising agency to make “fat the new fabulous” and create a new era of uncontrolled consumer appetite. In order to save mankind, Misha uses his own considerable marketing skills to launch an ingenious plan to try to eradicate the plague. But the corporate legions will not go down without a fight.”

Keep an eye out for ‘Branded’ starring Leelee Sobieski, Ed Stoppard, Jeffrey Tambor, and Max von Sydow on September 7th, 2012.
