Production on Alcon’s adaption of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl’s ‘Beautiful Creatures’ is set to begin in mere weeks. But that didn’t stop the company from replacing one of the lead actors. Deadline reports that Jack O’Connell (‘Skins”), who was scheduled to play the role of Ethan Wate, left the production citing “scheduling conflicts”. O’Connell Has been replaced with Alden Ehrenreich for the role. Ehrenreich is most famous for his role in Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Tetro’.
Ehrenreich will be joining an already stellar cast which includes Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Alice Anglert, and Thomas Mann.
‘Beautiful Creatures’ is a story of two friends and lovers who find that their destinies are intertwined as they battle curses and secrets in a small southern town. The film adaptation is written and directed by Richard LaGravenese (‘P.S. I Love You’) and begins filming in New Orleans this month.
