There’s been speculation of whether writer/director Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’ franchise should continue after the final film, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, without the director or it’s star (Christian Bale).

Other rumors have been circulating that Nolan actually plans to kill off the Caped Crusader at the end of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. Today, the website thedarkknightrises.com went live and visitors to the site were treated to the latest teaser poster from Nolan’s movie. The poster features the hulking villain Bane walking away from the Batman cowl, which lies broken and smashed. Over the mask is the ominous tagline: “The Legend Ends”. Whether this is referring to Batman, Bane, or just Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy remains to be seen. Either way, it’s a pretty badass poster.

Do you think this means it’s the end for Christian Bale’s Batman? If so, should someone else take up the mask or should Warner Brothers and DC leave Batman movies alone for a while and focus on some of their other franchises?
