New ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Set Photos And Video

A lot of the images leaking in from the various sets of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ are leaving rabid fans with more questions than answers and the latest batch doesn’t buck that trend. The images show Batman on his Batpod cruising past what appears to be the body of a downed Gotham City cop. Other images in this set show lots of Gotham City P.D. cars and officers converging on the caped crusader. What has happened? Did Batman actually hurt a cop? Was he framed? Or is he trying to save someone? At this point your guess is as good as anyone’s. Leave a comment and let us know what you think is happening.

Batcave May Be More Familiar Than Previously Reported

Last month, we got a look at what many assumed was an updated Batcave for the Dark Knight. However, ComicBookMovie is reporting that the Batcave being used in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ may be very similar (if not identical) to the one from ‘Batman Begins’. This information comes courtesy of “ChicagoBat” via the Batman-News.com website. ChicagoBat, who allegedy had a tour of the new Batcave, had this to say:

“Visiting L.A. and had a friend working at Sony Studios show me the Batcave set. It’s half finished, and pretty much looks like the same set we saw in “Batman Begins”. They’re still completing the quarry walls but the wooden manor foundations were all there in the corner. They may add more set dressing with equipment and such but don’t expect a radical redesign as most fanboys are expecting.

Funny thing was I asked the construction guys if they were using the same blueprints/plans from “Batman Begins” to match continuity, they said no, but as the set resembled the cave from “Begins” and I’m a detail freak who knows the movies, (right down to the waterfall entrance where the tumbler flies through) while they may have had new blueprints I could see it was the same cave from seeing the foundation beams that were iconic from the first movie. Also the stage can hold water, they’ll fill it when the quarry wall work is finished and they pull all the rigging lights up to illuminate the set.”

Of course, this is rumor at this point so take it as such until we get further confirmation, but this makes more sense in a continuity sense than the updated Batcave.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is directed by Christopher Nolan and comes out July 20, 2012 starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine.
