Booster Gold #44 is the first of many Flashpoint tie-ins this summer, and the greatest hero you’ll never know just can’t catch a break. This issue literally begins with a bang as Booster Gold and his robo life-mate Skeets return from where ever they were in the multi-verse (sorry, I didn’t read Booster Gold #43) only to end up in the middle of the Flashpoint’s Coast City and their Atlaentean defense system. See, the fine military men and women stationed in Coast City seem to think the golden one is from Atlantis and attacking the City Without Fear.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not 100% up to speed on Booster Gold, but I have always had a soft spot for the character. I love how DC has decided to included his book in the Flashpoint event. When it comes to time travel or alternate timelines who else in the DCU would you want to be on the case? I am also enjoying Booster’s new role as DCU time cop, even though I miss the collar on his power suit.

Anyway, this issue showed the Flashpoint event happen to Booster mid- investigation. And then the way he took a beating and just kept going, it really shows just what a force Booster Gold can be. It is also really nice to have Dan Jurgens back on the character he created back in 1986.

I know there are a lot of titles when it comes to Flashpoint, but I really think you will be happy to add Booster Gold to your monthly pull list. He is going to be very important to the flashpoint story. Looking forward to next month, hopefully Skeets makes it through and Booster is ready to go toe-to-toe with DOOMSDAY! Flashpoint rages on!
