If you wanted to see more ways that ‘Glass‘ could tie to ‘Split’ and ‘Unbreakable’ then the news that M. Night Shyamalan is including unused footage from the second film should help satisfy that desire! It is easy to guess that this would be used in a flashback scene and my money is on it being for Samuel L. Jackson’s Mr. Glass who has been in the psych ward longer than Bruce Willis’ David Dunn and James McAvoy’s Kevin Wendell Crumb. While this could include more footage of a younger Dunn as well, I suspect that with the movie being named after Jackson’s character it will be more important to the plot.

According to Shyamalan:

“I don’t want to give too much away, but you do see moments from the original Unbreakable. Scenes you didn’t get to see. You’ll see the same actor change, you know, 18 years on camera in front of you which is really powerful.”

You almost have to wonder if this will be related to the trailers not actually being what they seem when it comes to the upcoming film. While the movie is set to put Mr. Glass front and center, we also know that he’ll be recruiting “The Beast” to his cause and even being the smartest man in the room might not prove to be enough to control this other villain.

Are you looking forward to checking out ‘Glass’ when it is released next week? What types of unused footage do you think will be used and how will M. Night Shyamalan include it? Is it possible that these won’t all just be used as flashbacks? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Following the conclusion of ‘Split,’ ‘Glass’ finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

‘Glass’ will break into your local theaters on January 18th, 2019!
