Justice League The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

In ‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’, the citizens of Bricksburg have been conquered by invaders from the Duplo universe and must also face off against invaders from the Systar System, which resemble the LEGO Friends.  (In other words, the toys belonging to the younger sister of the young boy, Finn, from the end of the first movie.)  As has been glimpsed in prior trailers, in the Systar System, every day is a glittery musical.  (So far, the trailers have included ‘Intergalactic’ by the Beastie Boys and ‘Sweet Sensation’ by Flo Rida, but whether or not those will actually appear in the film is unknown.)

Also glimpsed in previous trailers, the LEGO Justice League will return.  Channing Tatum is back as Superman and Jonah Hill reprises the role of Green Lantern/Hal Jordan.  In a treat to DC movie fans, it has been confirmed that the voices of Aquaman, Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman will be provided by their live action actors, Jason Momoa, Margot Robbie and Gal Gadot, respectively.  (The Flash is also depicted, but it’s unknown if he will speak, and if so, if Ezra Miller will be doing the talking.  Another figure is shown, who is probably Cyborg, but he’s kind of hard to make out.)  Of course, Will Arnett is back as Batman.

In this re-edited clip, a longer look at the Justice League is provided, although most of the footage has already been shown:

‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ included dozens of DC heroes and villains– way more than the live-action films or even The CW TV shows.  In a way, this is the most fully-realized DC adapted universe ever seen.

‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’ was directed by Mike Mitchell (‘Trolls’) and Trisha Gum (‘Robot Chicken’).  The voice cast also features returning favorites Elizabeth Banks, Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, and Nick Offerman.  Newcomers include Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, Maya Rudolph, and Arturo Castro.  It appears that President Business and Good Cop/Bad Cop will be in the sequel, but it has not been revealed whether or not Will Ferrell or Liam Neeson will portray them.

‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’ assembles in theaters on February 8, 2019.
