The LEGO Movie 2 Emmet's Holiday Party

‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’ won’t arrive until February, but the creators have gifted fans with a new short, depicting Emmet and Lucy (a.k.a. Wyldstyle) nestled in the town of Apocalypseburg.  The pair were previously shown living in this bizarre town at the beginning of the trailer for ‘The LEGO Movie 2’.  While the dusty town lives up to its name, Emmet hatches a plan to brighten things up by decorating for Christmas.  And the gathering isn’t complete until new character, Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, contributes.

The clip checks in with other favorites as well, including LEGO Batman, Benny the spaceman, Metal Beard and Ultrakatty, an apocalypse-hardened Unikitty, the last of which adds some Christmas cheer in her own unique way.  There’s even a yuletide remix of Tegan and Sara’s ‘Everything Is Awesome!’ to complete the cheer.

Check out the “extra Pumpkin Spicy” celebration below:

Mike Mitchell (‘Trolls’) and Trisha Gum (‘Robot Chicken’) co-directed ‘The LEGO Movie 2’.  Elizabeth Banks (Lucy) and Chris Pratt (Emmet) are back, with Pratt pulling double duty as the new roguish space pilot/Velociraptor wrangler Rex Dangerfist.  The cast also welcomes back Will Arnett as Batman, Alison Brie as Unikitty/Ultrakatty, Charlie Day as Benny, Jonah Hill as Green Lantern, Nick Offerman as Metal Beard, and Channing Tatum as Superman.  Newcomers include Tiffany Haddish as Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, Stephanie Beatriz as General Mayhem, Arturo Castro as Ice Cream Cone and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all-new action-packed
adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens
are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster
than they can rebuild.

The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman
and their friends to far away, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical.
It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.

‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’ assembles in theaters on February 8, 2019.
