Dumbledore Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

We know that one of the most exciting aspects of ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald‘ is that there will be more ties to the “Harry Potter” films and Jude Law‘s Dumbledore is no exception. This will be a younger take on the character who doesn’t have the experience nor even the wand that was seen with ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.’ However, with J.K Rowling on set, she was able to give Law details on the mindset of Dumbledore as well as how he developed into the man we see in this film.

According to Law:

“When you have the opportunity to work with the creator of a character, and a novelist at that, it’s like having a well of inspiration and detail. She was very generous with her time, and she gave me a very clear picture of who he was from childhood; his motivations and the pivotal moments from his life and the scars that were left. So she and David Yates gave me a real sense early on so we could redefine that period before Dumbledore became the man we know and love from the Potter movies. I was able to dig into the demons and the turmoil and the drama of a younger man and the stuff that he has yet to resolve.”

It sounds as if the actor will have the knowledge and insight of what Dumbledore has been through until this point into his life and the motivating factors which will be guiding his decisions in the film.

Are you looking forward to seeing a younger Dumbledore played by Jude Law in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’? Is the fact that Rowling was there to give insight on the character has you even more excited for his portrayal? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

‘Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ will be magically appearing in theaters on November 16th, 2018!
