Things are getting bigger in the upcoming season of The CW’s ‘iZombie,’ or at least the actors are as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (‘The Comedy Get Down,’ ‘Airplane!’) has just joined the cast! He is taking on the part of Zed, one of two Seattle City Council members that didn’t run from the city before the wall went up. Like Liv, he’ll be a zombie while his fellow council member is a human. This dynamic will create “a unique form of gridlock at city hall” that grinds what is left of the government to a halt. This leaves Liv’s friend Peyton, who is played by Aly Michalka, left to run the city. Peyton was the deceased mayor’s chief of staff before everything falling apart.

As to a fun visual difference between the undead on ‘iZombie,’ it should be noted that Rose McIver who plays Liv is 5 feet 4 inches while Abdul-Jabbar is 7-foot-2.

McIver shared a picture of her standing next to Abdul-Jabbar which shows their striking difference in height and can be seen in the following tweet:

Abdul-Jabbar hasn’t been doing much in the way of acting lately, and while known for his work on comedies, this won’t be his first outing in genre work as he was previously in Stephen King’s ‘The Stand.’ Still, this will be his first time acting in a comic-themed property.

The fifth and final season if ‘iZombie’ will air on The CW in 2019!
