Ant-Man And The Wasp

There’s surprisingly little that we know for sure about ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ right now. But one thing we can say with certainty (because Kevin Feige and the brothers Russo have been all but shouting it at us for the past few months) is that the film is going to pack an emotional wallop. But while the Avengers’ latest outing is sure to leave fans reeling, Marvel’s next outing is equally sure to be just the balm we’ll need to soothe those emotional wounds.

I’m speaking, of course, about ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’, the sequel to the superhero heist/comedy that came hot on the heels of the last ‘Avengers’ film. While the focus of Marvel’s marketing has naturally been on ‘Infinity War’, we have been given a few scattered peeks at ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’, including an official trailer. And now, we have our latest glimpse of the upcoming film, with the arrival of the international trailer, which you can find here:

Beyond the trailer itself, we also have some hints as to what sort of position Ant-Man will find himself in at the start of the film. As you may recall, his recruitment by Captain America in ‘Captain America: Civil War‘ ended with him being briefly imprisoned in the raft before going on the run (presumably to Wakanda alongside the other anti-registration heroes). This may have left you wondering just how the small matter of his international fugitive status would be dealt with in his next solo film. Well, co-star Evangeline Lilly has addressed that question in conversation with USA Today:

“Well, he’s a fugitive in most of the first ‘Ant-Man’ movie. He’s just a bigger fugitive now. I think that’s one of the fun things and challenges about the Marvel movies for us, for the directors, and for the writers, is you do have to sort of consider what happened in the previous movies in terms of your jumping-off point for those characters. It’s something we talked about a lot early on and we definitely have stuff figured out, so there  will be some big leaps forward.”
