Lynda Carter makes her debut as President Olivia Marsdin on this evening’s ‘Supergirl’ and we have a new clip that showcases her appearance.
In the first, Supergirl appears, apparently just as a fan, when an unexpected threat endangers the President’s life and Kara must swoop into action.
Then in the second part of the clip, President Marsdin speaks to J’Onn J’Onzz/Hank Henshaw about her new amnesty plan for aliens, which he disagrees with.
Supergirl 2×03 “Welcome to Earth” Sneak Peek – An attack is made on the President (guest star Lynda Carter) as hot-button, alien vs. human rights issues heat up in National City. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO are assigned to protect the President and bring in the responsible party. Alex (Chyler Leigh) teams up with Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) to investigate the case while Kara searches for a recently escaped Mon-El (Chris Wood), who she fears may be the alien behind the assault. Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Jessica Queller and Derek Simon (#203).

‘Welcome to Earth’ is directed by Rachel Talalay, who recently helmed the ‘Flash’ episode ‘Fast Lane’. She previously directed a different sort of comic book adaptation, the feature ‘Tank Girl’ as well as ‘Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare’.
Presumably, Carter’s President character is named after William Moulton Marston, the creator of Wonder Woman, the hero that Carter portrayed on the classic TV series from the 70s.
Carter recently attended a ceremony held by the United Nations to honor Wonder Woman as an ambassador of gender equality. Also in attendance was Gal Gadot who portrays Wonder Woman in the current DC Universe movies and who posted this photo to commemorate the event.
