*EXCLUSIVE* Melissa Benoist and Lynda Carter crack a few jokes on set of 'Supergirl'

Hillary Rodham Clinton may become the first female President of the United States in real life, but in the world of fiction, particularly speculative fiction, there have been several female POTUSes with the newest arriving in just weeks: Lynda Carter who is taking on a guest-starring role on ‘Supergirl’.  Of course, Carter is most famous for playing another iconic female hero, ‘Wonder Woman’ for three memorable seasons in the 1970s.

And while many Americans are unhappy with this year’s Presidential race, up to and including the s*** show that was the Presidential Debate, which played out more like a ‘Real Housewives’ reunion special, Carter sees a clear victor, Clinton.

“I thought she was brilliant.  To me, the choice is clear.

“The first thing you hear when you travel is people asking you, ‘Has America lost its mind?’  I understand that people want change, but change just for change sake isn’t a good thing. You don’t hire the snake oil salesman to run your company. You don’t hand over your keys to someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing.”

Carter frequently travels abroad as part of her singing career, an endeavor that prevented her from making a cameo in next year’s ‘Wonder Woman’ movie, starring Gal Gadot as the modern Amazing Amazon.

But her schedule did allow for her to pop up on ‘Supergirl’.  Will Hillary serve as inspiration for Carter’s President?

“I used Hillary to prepare.  I saw the way she can be warm and funny and inviting and serious.

“Hillary is much more human than Wonder Woman.  She has flaws, but we are all flawed and we learn from our mistakes.

“I think she is a role model in the way she has paved the way for women.”

Well, if anyone knows about paving the way for women, it’s Wonder Woman!  And honestly, as disillusioned as so many Americans are with our two choices for President… can’t we just actually elect Lynda Carter/Wonder Woman?
