With the theatrical run of  ‘Justice League’ winding down, the film should be coming to home video soon.  (It isn’t officially scheduled for release, but it should arrive in February, approximately.)  One possible inclusion is this extended scene featuring Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) battling Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds).  As was revealed in the film, Hinds is seeking the Mother Boxes which have been entrusted to the Amazons and Atlanteans to protect.

Momoa’s performance as the half-human, half-Atlantean sea king was one of the highlights of ‘Justice League’ and his own solo movie, which will further showcase Heard’s Mera, is due next December.  But ‘Justice League’ helps set up ‘Aquaman’ by not just introducing the main character, but offering a glimpse at Atlantis and showing Mera in action, utilizing her ability to control water.

Reportedly, a scene featuring supporting character Nuidis Vulko, played by Willem Dafoe was intended for inclusion in ‘Justice League’ but that it was cut to bring the movie in under two hours.

‘Justice League’ was met with warm enough reception from fans, but received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office.  Perhaps an extended cut on home video, like those that were released for ‘Batman V Superman’ and ‘Suicide Squad,’ could have wider appeal.

Directed by Zack Snyder with Joss Whedon, ‘Justice League’ stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Ray Fisher, Gal Gadot, Ciarán Hinds, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa with Amy Adams, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Joe Morton, Connie Nielsen and J.K. Simmons.  It is still playing in theaters but should be released on home video early next year.

Directed by James Wan, ‘Aquaman’ stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison and Patrick Wilson with Nicole Kidman.  It will be released in theaters on December 21, 2018.
