Remember when superheroes just had one iconic costume (except for The Wasp) and that was what they wore all the time? If you’re old enough you do. If you grew up in the 90s when Kenner cranked out about a billion different colored Batman toys with various accoutrements for random scenarios, then you probably don’t. But that happened and now superheroes change duds as often as ordinary folk. (Because more action figures.)
In ‘Batman V Superman’, Ben Affleck‘s Batman wore two suits: a more leathery, slimmer costume; and a bulked up suit of armor complete with high beam flashlight eyes. Affleck returns as the Caped Crusader in November 2017 in ‘Justice League’ and will co-write, direct and star in a solo ‘Batman’ movie, the release date of which has yet to be announced. Can we expect to see even more new uniforms? (Yes, because more action figures.)
Just weeks ago, director Zack Snyder tweeted an image of Affleck (above) wearing what Snyder called a “Tactical Batsuit.” No further details were given, but that didn’t stop ‘Extra”s Mario Lopez from asking Affleck about it, during an interview to promote his new movie ‘The Accountant’ (which costars J.K. Simmons, Affleck’s new Commissioner Gordon).
Affleck didn’t give away too much, but said the following:
“There’s two suits in Justice League. One we’ve seen before, and then one that he creates because of the nature of the mission… Which I can’t give away. But it was a chance for them to play with the suit and add elements to it, and tech it out. I thought they did a really good job.”

The suit is a departure from both previous versions. It’s more plated and angular than the “leathery” costume and not nearly as cumbersome and bulky as the armor. But the only clue as to its function is that it’s “tech”-ed “out.” (Does it allow him to fly by shooting rays out of the palms of his hands?)
At least it looks nothing like THIS tech-ed out monstrosity:
