The-Flash-Deathstorm-and-Killer-Frost

‘The Flash’ Season Two has had a lot on its plate.  Not only did the show introduce the concept of the dark mirror universe Earth 2, which featured twisted versions of many familiar faces and the major new villain Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd) but the show (along with companion series ‘Arrow’) was tasked with setting up the new spinoff limited run series ‘Legends of Tomorrow’— recalibrating several existing cast members like Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and introducing several new ones like Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) among others.

But with ‘Legends’ leaving the nest this week, the focus shifts squarely back to Barry and company… and reverse company.  We’ve already seen some majorly sinister parallel universe versions of some characters, but the changes really hit home with the introductions of Earth 2’s Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), under the guises of Killer Frost and Deathstorm.  On top of that, as if Zoom weren’t a big enough challenge for The Flash (Grant Gustin), upcoming episodes showcase the return of the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher)!

The new trailer for the upcoming episodes offers some quick-cut glimpses of some of the threats and other developments the cast will be facing, but complicating matters is that many of the regular actors will be pulling double duty as their Earth 2 doppelgangers.  When viewed once, certain scenes may seem to hint at one direction, but with the possibility that one is watching the parallel versions, things could go in a completely different one.

Like a good teaser, this seems to beg more questions than it answers.  What do you think is going to happen in the remainder of Season Two?

One thing is for sure, despite the heavy presence of Zoom and the Reverse-Flash, The Flash (Earth 1 version) will be battling another new threat, lifted from the pages of DC Comics: King Shark.  In another mini crossover with ‘Arrow’, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla Audrey Marie Andersen) come to Central City in pursuit of the razor-toothed killer.

Season Two Part Two kicks off today, January 19.
