Shooting is underway on Marvel’s next blockbuster, next fall’s ‘Doctor Strange.’  Filming is currently taking place in Kathmandu, Nepal and fans are rabid for any glimpse in hopes of possibly gaining some morsel of insight into what the movie may include.  One pic has already surfaced of a hirsute Cumberbatch from afar, shooting a scene on a rooftop.

Now a few more snapshots have magically materialized of Cumberbatch, who plays the title hero Stephen Strange strolling through the popular Bhotahiti open-air market.  This batch includes some up-close, full body shots of the Doctor, a once arrogant surgeon who must travel to the Far East in an effort to restore the use of his hands after a tragic accident.  Or maybe he’s browsing for some cheap clothing or handicrafts.  We don’t know!

In the comics, Doctor Stephen Strange is seeking to heal his hands and winds up under the tutelage of the Ancient One, eventually ascending to the role of Sorcerer Supreme, Earth’s defender against paranormal threats.

Beyond the origin, not much else is known about the movie’s plot at this point.  Not even the full cast has been announced, but what we do know is that Cumberbatch is starring opposite Tilda Swinton as his mentor The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as rival Baron Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as the female lead, Regina George Christine Palmer, who is presumably Strange’s romantic interest and Michael Stuhlbarg as jealous surgeon Nicodemus West.  Mads Mikkelson who was previously attached to ‘Thor: The Dark World’ is rumored to be in the running to appear as well, but so far those talks haven’t been confirmed.

“After his career is destroyed, a brilliant but arrogant surgeon gets a new lease on life when a sorcerer takes him under his wing and trains him to defend the world against evil.”

Scott Derrickson is directing ‘Doctor Strange’ which is due to teleport into theaters on November 4, 2016.
